if i were to cross two animals they would be the giraffe and the elephant.
it would be the gelephant, and it would be made out of tinker toys.
i don't get why everyone's so bent on being the best and first. if anything it will be a detriment a lifestyle to constantly try to outdo others. why not do things because they're what you want to do? why not be satisfied just with the experience? fer realz.

'quidditch through the ages' and 'fantastic beasts and where to find them' came in the mail today. i'm one step closer to hogwarts.

it definitely doesn't seem like the twenty-fifth of august.

a few things

hermit crabs are the least hermetic crabs i have ever met. there is nary a crab that will crawl around for you in a painted shell, trying to impress the highest bidder. that's not how i would conduct my business if i were a hermit. get your priorities straights, you friendly artistic crabs.

also, if i knew a eunuch i would take him to a testicle festival.

i hate:

seeing people who are clearly uncomfortable with who they're trying to be, yet too infatuated with an abrasive lifestyle to be themselves.

fuck

I can't commit myself to anything. All I want to do is sit in my room and read or watch movies all day. I think I'll be a recluse when I get older. I keep getting asked where I want to go to college, which I have no answer to. If I went overseas and studied linguistics, would I have to learn a marginally different syntax per country I study in? I don't get how people can want to be a doctor or lawyer from a young age and keep that aspiration throughout their decision-making years. Who wants to diagnose sicknesses or argue on the behalf of a stranger? I want to do something fulfilling. I could just be selfish, but why spend a life focused on monotony and money? Don't listen to me though, I'll eventually need to get medication or plead my case in court.

I had a dream last night in which I was dead, and looked back at how much I didn't have a chance to do. Scary shit.

I don't know why I'm capitalizing all of a sudden.

sooo

i've been away and just not generally interested in going on my computer as of late, which is why i haven't said anything here. not much to it.

one missive: dear inventor of the midnight snack, why have you lead me astray? there's nothing engaging or addictive about your hobby, as i have so long believed. i was recently disappointed to find that such late-night actions are not as satisfying as you claim, especially given the fact that one's recently laundered teeth become soiled and in need of further cleaning.
i hate how people get mad at you for something you did wrong. it already happened, what do they expect you to do about it? the only reason that would be applicable, to me at least, would be if you muffed up on purpose. but still, why waste being mad about something that's irrepairable?

i've noticed a couple things about people:
-some are naturally creepy
-some look funny
-i feel bad for fat people [i can't help that i lose weight even when i try not to (which makes me feel bad for anorexic people)]
-underestimation of the burning powers of steam

i went to bed relatively early last night.
when i consider two am early, it affirms my suspicions of a sleeping problem.

i have no room in my heart for mayonnaise

shouldn't television be abbreviated as t'v' and not tv? it's a contraction. capitalizing it doesn't make it any different from lowercase tv, does it?

hitler had a pretty emo haircut

when you think about it, grapes have to be the easiest fruit to harvest. all you have to do is pull the top of the bundle. there's no challenge in that.

punctuation is more serious than i want to be

periods have a definite finality to them. question marks are ambiguous: to those who rarely punctuate, they create seriousness behind the question; for those who frequently punctuate, they're a necessity. periods are similar, but they show more emotion, especially when compared to the effervescent exclamation mark. for example: thanks. vs. thanks! the period in the former makes it seem as if the bearer of thanks is not completely genuine. the exclamation mark, however, shows the user's apparent appreciation.
then there's the mighty apostrophe. if you're going to type with proper punctuation and capitalization, the apostrophe is a must-have. as you may have noticed, i don't capitalize my sentences or proper nouns. that would seem doubly serious, coupled with my punctuation. i'm not writing a novel. but i do everything else correctly [or i think i do]. one can't claim to be proper when they use then instead of than, their instead of they're [or there], or thats instead of that's. thats isn't even a word.
contractions also make things less serious. even if i were to write a novel, i would still use contractions. the only instance in which i would shun the contraction is if i were writing a decree or something of the sort.

i think i'd make a good analyst [at least with my own syntax].

i have decided to follow my dreams and become a hot air balloon racer.
i have no idea where to start.

gobbledigook

existence is a memory. the only thing you can vouch for is that you were here, you had a past, you existed. once you say "i am" you're already in the past. what does it even mean to have a past? old photos? forgotten emotions? letters? memories. that's all we have.

by the way, gobbledigook is sigur rós' worst song to date. for some reason they chose it as their single.
i want a cat or a toddler. i don't care which.

i think it's weird how music can so quickly trigger forgotten events and emotions:

unorthodoxy is endearing

i hate when people steal someone else's material or ideas. take comedy, for instance. i can't count how many comedians have said "i'm just waiting for ashton kutcher to come out at the state of the union and be like 'you got punked america!'".

wuddafuxup

somewhere, emanating from my neighbour's house, is a mysterious ringing noise.
not mysterious in the sense that it inhibits curiosity, but other questions of mystery. will i be able to get to sleep tonight? i wonder if a noise can burrow as deep inside my head as this seems to be? what the hell makes such an annoyingly persistent and loud noise? why can't they hear it?

it's a good time.

i have ambitions

and i plan to achieve them.

i love to feel things.

thought-dreams are the most dangerous. you know, when you're in between dreamland and consciousness. when you think you're falling down the stairs or kicking a ball but you're really just laying in your bed. and you react to the situation and wake up in the dark, strangled by tangled sheets. with normal dreams, my thoughts have disconnected from my body, so i don't [usually] get out of my bed and walk around like i am in my dream. with thought-dreams, however, my thoughts are still attached to my body and when i move, i move. scares the shit out of me, and i can never get back to sleep.

erm

do the chinese have fonts?
it was a tough day at the coal mine today. sector fourteen collapsed right on alfons. i think charlie's got some issues like his brother. bobby and he just can't seem to remember jack shit. i told charles to take some'a bobby's meds, but he just laughed at me. he has no respect. i think chuck's a xenophobe. ya know, racist. we was talking about colored folk and he just laughed again. he didn't think anything of alfons dying. sector fourteen was always so stable, i can't believe it went like that. this ain't the fifies, charlie can't go laughin' at the death of black folk. goddamn disapointing.

where have all our cattle gone?
charlie can't take anything seriously.

the past is a happy place.

all i want is for clotheslines to be mainstream again. our kids would love it, until they became teenagers. "dad, why don't we just permadry our clothes like everyone else? we don't need to hand-wash and hang-dry them every time. carlos said his parents permacleaned all his clothes. i think we should do that too, it'd be a lot easier". he doesn't understand. what does he know?

i think a man [or woman, but i don't know what a woman peeing sounds like] habitually pees in the bushes under my window around one in the morning. either that or there's a rattler that rarely feels threatened.

i hate when girls call their friends derogatory names. especially when they're twelve.

i wrote a poem:
i wish i was a book with eyes.

i would watch my readers

when you think about it, a lot of things don't matter. if you have to think about it at all, chances are it doesn't matter. like clarifying yourself to someone you'll probably never talk to again. like your favorite pen. like your enemies. don't harp on shit that isn't even important.
i think i ate something bad for breakfast. but i'm better now.
and tomorrow's my birthday.

the birds are singing

do i go to bed now, at four a.m.? or do i stay all the way up? yes, all the way. proper terminology fo seri. the birds just began their chirping. they can sense the quickening daylight in the darkness. it's kind of creepy. i want to stay up but there's really no reason to and, honestly, it would be dumb. buuut then again, what else am i going to do? sleep all day? boringer.

do fat people have bigger tongues?

my nipples itch when i bathe

mostly everything i type i type for a reason. rarely do i key a word without thought of its implications. i don't think people realize this.
for example; my system of relaying amusement:
ha = a brief exhale from the nasal cavity, an amused reaction
hah = a chuckle, more than amused, audibly pleased
aha = an explosive chuckle, something that catches me off-guard that i find amusing
ahah = an explosive laugh, something that catches me off-guard that i find more than "amusing"
haha = a genuine laugh, one that i can somewhat see coming but still amuses me
the list continues, but that just gets boring.

i had a good weekend. well, a good week, really. i had an art program with my school all week. i wish i could do it all summer, i'm going to be so bored and lacking materials. on friday i stayed at mark's house. zach came over and we didn't really do much, which was fun. on saturday i went to boston at one with mark and some of his friends. also fun. but hot. with lots of walking. still fun, though. when i got home i went over to patrick's house. i was surprised i was allowed to go, but pleased. i didn't do much there, either. on sunday i came home around 12, then did nothing for hours, while my parents went off to the celtics game. my brother and i decided to go see a movie. we ended up watching zohan, it was ok. and now i'm here. i think i'll read. then sleep, if i'm tired.
i lauf summer.

shit.

i have to do eighty problems to get confirmed, something i don't care that much for, before may 30th, which is in two days. and i have two more days of finals, and the studying that comes with those tests. so that sucks. but it'll be fine. not much really gets me worried anymore. and i just had like ten freeze pops which was good. my lips match my eyes :P [blue?].

i recently discovered that i suck at studying. but luckily i remember stuff from the year so i'm pretty well off.

baataa.

today was a pretty good day. last day of classes. it is somewhat surreal, but i don't really care. i just want finals to be done. i got a 48 on my spanish test which i found amusing. my teacher was a dick about it, too. don't care. went pretty smoothly though. i managed to get all my books home which was an accomplishment, i just hope i can remember my locks combination next year. i should probably write it down somewhere.
i am looking forward to this summer, quite obviously.

asdf.

today i enticed my mom
to take me to barnes and noble
where i got two books: gravity's
rainbow by pynchon and house
of leaves by danielewski. now all
i need is time to read them.

not much happened today.
school was boring. i just want it
to be over at this point. i should
be studying for spanish for the
listening comprehension section
of my final that i have tomorrow.
but that's no fun.

i need to get to sleep earlier.
i've been mr. crankypants all
day. i don't mind it, it helps me
get my point across without
worry about being nice or not.
but people don't like it. odd.

oh, puns.
